Privacy Policy

Wise Classroom (“we”, “us”) is an online classroom where teachers run their classes and students join to read along, submit work and earn XP. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at wewiselabs@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and a display name, used to sign you in and show who you are inside a class.
• Guest accounts — if you start without an account, we keep only the name you give us. The account lives in that browser until you save it with an email.
• Class activity — the classrooms you own or join, the content you post, assignment submissions, feedback, and gamification data (XP, levels, badges).
• Fees — if your class uses fees: what is due, the payments you or your teacher record, and any payment screenshot you choose to send. Only you and your teachers can see them.
• Images you upload — profile pictures and class cover/icon images you choose to add.
• Basic technical data — standard logs and security information (such as timestamps and rate-limit counters) needed to keep accounts safe and the service working.

How we use it

• To run your classes: sign-in, classrooms, submissions and rewards.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (e.g. rate limiting).
• To let teachers keep families informed: a weekly note the teacher sends from their own phone, and a private family link that shows a student’s classes, work, quiz results and fees. Anyone holding the link can open that page, so it is never indexed, and the teacher can turn it off at any time. We don’t store anyone’s phone number for this.
• To send account and service emails you’d expect — email verification, password resets, and invite links.
• In the future we may send occasional product updates or classroom tips. We’ll only do this with an appropriate lawful basis, and every such message will include a clear way to opt out. Essential account emails are always sent.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use student work to advertise to you. We only share data with the infrastructure providers needed to operate the service (see below).

Where your data lives

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers — Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and Vercel (application hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Students, teachers & schools

Wise Classroom is designed for classroom use. Where a school or teacher invites students, that school or teacher is responsible for obtaining any consent required under local law before students create accounts or submit work. Teachers and owners can manage members and remove content within their classrooms.

Your choices & rights

• You can view and update your display name and profile picture at any time.
• You can leave a class, and owners can remove members and delete classrooms.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing wewiselabs@gmail.com.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account or a classroom is deleted, we remove the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.

A guest account nobody has used for 30 days may be removed with what it made, unless it belongs to a class run by a saved account, whose records include it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product grows. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
